Mira is an AI

Mira is a computer program — an AI — and never a person. She can be wrong. She is not a doctor, a therapist, or an emergency service. If you are in danger, call your local emergency number; when she hears that someone may be in crisis, she shows helplines for your country.

What we keep

• Your account: your email address. Your password is handled by Supabase, our database provider, and stored in a form nobody can read back — including us.
• What you told us when you joined, and can change on the About you page: your name, what you have called her, your age range, your language, her voice, the kind of presence you chose, what you are looking for, your country, and whether she says hello when you come back. Your time zone is taken from your phone so she knows whether it is morning or night for you.
• Your conversations: every message you send and every reply, typed or spoken. For spoken conversations we keep the words, not the recording. If a message looked like someone might be in crisis, it is marked, so the safety response works.
• What she remembers: short facts she has learned about you (for example, the name of someone you care about) and brief summaries of your last ten conversations.
• Reminders: what each one says, when it is for, and whether it reached you.
• Good-morning and good-evening messages, if you turned them on: the message she wrote you.
• Notifications: the address your phone or browser gives us for sending you notifications, what kind of device it is, and whether the last one arrived.

Health information

People talk about their health, and about their family's. Anything you say about it is part of your conversation and is kept like the rest of it.

Reminders about a medicine or your health are only kept after you say yes to that, and taking that yes back deletes them all.

What she remembers can include health things you have mentioned — yours or someone else's. Every one of them is marked private: she knows it, but never brings it up first, and it is never used in a good-morning or good-evening message. If you bring it up, she already knows, so you do not have to explain it again.

Moments when someone seemed to be in crisis are kept out of her memory. The app removes them before her memory is built, and it keeps no summary of a conversation that had one. Those moments do stay in your conversation, like everything else you say.

Where it is kept

Your account and everything above is kept in a database run by Supabase, in Singapore. The app itself runs on servers run by Render.

Who else sees it

Only the services that make the app work, and only what each one needs:

• Anthropic, the company whose AI model she runs on, receives your messages so she can reply, remember, understand reminders and write your greetings.
• ElevenLabs turns what you say on a call into words, and turns her replies into a voice. Since 29 September 2026, it keeps a copy of each spoken reply in our account only until that reply has reached you; then we delete it.
• Supabase keeps the database. Resend delivers our emails to you — confirming your sign-up, resetting your password — so it sees your email address and those messages. Render runs the app.
• When we send you a notification, Apple, Google or Mozilla carry it to your phone. It is encrypted, so they cannot read what it says.

We do not sell what you tell us, show you adverts, or use tracking or analytics tools.

Cookies

• Ones that keep you signed in.
• One that remembers your language, for a year.
• One that keeps the memories page open for five minutes after you enter your password.

None of them track you across other websites.

Technical records

Like most apps, ours writes technical records so we can find and fix problems — mostly errors, with a short piece of your account's code rather than your name. Very occasionally a short piece of one of her replies is included, when the app stops her saying something about a reminder that is not true. These records are kept by Render only as long as it keeps its logs.

How long we keep it

Until you delete it. The one exception is the conversation summaries in her memory: only the last ten are kept, and older ones are deleted automatically.

Deleting things

You can do these yourself, any time:

• What she remembers: on the memories page (from About you), delete one thing or everything.
• Reminders: on the Reminders page. Cancelling or removing one deletes it completely.
• Health reminders: on About you, take your okay back. That deletes every one of them.
• Notifications: on the Notifications page. Turning them off deletes the address we had for your device.
• Your conversation: on About you, under “Your conversation and account”. It deletes every message in it and her notes on it — and, if you choose, what she learned about you from it.
• Your whole account: in the same place. It deletes your conversation, everything she remembers, your reminders, her good-morning and good-evening messages, your notification settings, your About you answers, and your sign-in.

Both ask for your password first, show you exactly what will go, and ask once more before anything is deleted. Once it is deleted we cannot bring it back.

Some copies sit outside the app, and deleting here does not reach them. Anthropic may keep what it processed for a limited time under its own rules, and Render keeps technical records for as long as it keeps its logs. Her replies spoken before 29 September 2026, while the app was being tested, were kept in our ElevenLabs account and are still there; they are not linked to anyone's account in the app. Every reply since then is deleted from ElevenLabs as soon as it has reached you.

If anything goes wrong, write to us at hello@thesoulbuddy.com and we will delete it for you.

If you are under 18

You can use The Soul Buddy. When you tell us you are under 18, she talks with you in a way that suits your age, and shows helplines for young people where your country has them. Please make sure a parent or someone who looks after you knows you are using it.

Your rights

You can ask to see what we keep about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to take back any yes you have given. Write to us at hello@thesoulbuddy.com. If you are not happy with how we handle it, you can complain to the data-protection authority where you live.

Changes

If we change what we keep or who sees it, we will update this page and tell you in the app before it happens.
